The first Interschools Equestrian event was held this past weekend with a fabulous turnout of Brescia girls. Brescia falls under Johannesburg Central, the biggest and most competitive region in the country.

This past weekend 651 primary school competitors competed across 9 different disciplines at various experience levels. A daunting day! Our newbies had a very successful start in a very tough first qualifier:

Alessia Biscarini achieved a 1st place in equitation and a 4th in her show jumping.

Angela Dietrich achieved a 5th placce in equitation and a 12th and 13th place in her show jumping events.

Emma-Jayne Simmonds was 1st in her equitation class and followed with a 2nd and 3rd place in show jumping and prix caprilli.

Georgia-Mae McLaggan competed in equitation and show jumping and came 8th and 6th.

Kendra Wise took part in equitation and 2 show jumping classes and achieved a 6th, 7th and 5th place.

Madison Marais had a lovely show jumping round and took 5th place.

Our more experienced girls continued to shine with a special mention going to Tanith Wise, Erin O'Dwyer and Victoria Haines who all trotted away with a 1st in each of their respective events.

Thank you all for your time and effort...we earned 3780 points for Brescia Primary school!

Good luck for Q2 and keep working on those pony partnerships!

In September 2017, the Brescia House School grade 10 girls completed their annual 2 day community outreach work at the Johannesburg Children's Home. As part of that effort, the school committed to fixing up and revamping the jungle gyms on the property. Mr Paul Matthews, Head of Operations at the school, and his operations team just recently managed to finish that, as well as to do a little bit of a clean up to the new veggie garden our team dug for them and the girls had planted.

A very big thank you to our Ops Team leader Kathutshelo Thavhana, ably assisted by Lazarus Mohatli and Peter Shogole, as well as by Vibing Gardens supplement assistance of William Zimba and Yoweli Mose.

Attached also find a very heartfelt letter of thanks from The Johannesburg Children's Home for this initiative.
