Grade 11 Geography Outing to the Magaliesberg

Tuesday, 13th June commenced with a joyous bus trip to the Hartebeespoort Aerial Cable for the Grade 11 Geography class. Upon arrival the girls eagerly climbed into the cable cars and it was all smiles and laughter - until lift off. Our stomachs lurched and our adrenaline flowed, marking the beginning of a very exciting day.

At the top of the mountain we sat on rocks and marvelled at the view whilst welcoming the much-needed sunlight. We all felt very accomplished after being able to identify the slope elements of the Magaliesberg cuestas and rewarded ourselves with cheesy pizzas for lunch. After another exhilarating trip in the cable car, we headed to the Chameleon Village via the Hartebeespoort Dam Wall. At the Village, we walked around the market, studying the informal trading, and gorged on heavenly tasting ice cream before heading home. The Geography outing was a day filled with learning, laughter and the breath-taking beauty of the Magaliesberg.
