A special visitor
What a pleasure it was welcoming back Mrs Val Thornton yesterday. Mrs Thornton started teaching at Brescia House School in 1972. She came to chat to our Grade 4 girls about the history of the school, and how it has changed over the years (and what has remained the same). The girls delighted in hearing about how students - if they were quiet - were able to hear the cows from the nearby farm mooing! That 'nearby farm' is now Douglasdale Dairy. It was a journey through time as they heard about the gravel roads that led up to the school, the curious apricot-coloured shirts that were part of the first school uniform, and the resident corgis that ran up and down the stairwells. Thank you Mrs Thornton for sharing your wonderful stories with us. We hope to welcome you back soon again.
