Celebrating the Feast Day of St Angela
The Primary School celebrated the Feast Day of St Ursula, patroness of the Ursuline Order and of Ursuline Schools, by preparing a “travelling” liturgy on the school grounds. The Brescia House School girls were reminded of the adventurous and very brave nature of the young princess as she undertook a pilgrimage to Rome to meet the pope. The reading and prayers were prepared and recited by the Grade 5 girls, who were placed in beautiful areas in our school where the spirit of St Ursula and St Angela are always represent as a reminder of the foundation that was laid 54 years ago by the Ursuline Sisters who developed this place of Catholic education for young girls and women. The Feast Day Liturgy took us from the mosaics to the Angelus Bell, the St Angela Statue and to the Ursuline Sisters’ Chapel. Angela Merici identified the martyred Ursula as a role model for her order of Sisters, and we are reminded to “Venture out into the deep: with courage and hope, welcome the future.”
