Grade 8 Ethos Task

Yesterday the Grade 8s were presented with a task of preparing and creating 1000 prayer cards – the mantra for the day’s task was ‘1 Grade – 1 000 Prayer Cards’. The girls are working in conjunction with women from various Catholic communities across Johannesburg who are packing 1000 Christmas food hampers for the aged and for child-lead households. Our Brescia House School girls added the extra ray of hope to the hampers by creating prayer cards to be included in the hampers. The first task, however, was to prepare messages of thanks and inspiration for our own much appreciated Brescia House support staff who work tirelessly to keep our school safe, neat and tidy and the most beautiful place of learning. Thereafter, almost 300 prayer cards were completed, each being its own design reflecting the kind and caring nature of our girls. These cards will be handed over to the Pensioners’ and Children’s Support team at the Bryanston parish for inclusion in the Christmas hampers that will be packed and will be widely distributed amongst various communities.
