Orienteering Schools League Finals

2020 has been a great Orienteering year for Brescia House School and after all the school events we had Megan Froneman came in 1st, Tezni Loeve in 2nd and Natasha Hultzer in 4th on the points board for the Junior girls. In the Senior girls Sarah Wimberley was first, Stephanie Somerai was 4th and Kierra Theunissen was 5th. These wonderful places resulted in 8 of our girls being selected for the Schools League finals on Monday the 10th of March at the Walter Sisulu Botanical gardens. It is tough terrain and they sat nervously quizzing each other on symbols and map legends while they waited for their start times.

Sarah, Natasha and Tezni all had great runs, finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in the finals. We waited patiently for prize-giving and to hear the final places for the season. It was worth the wait! In the Junior girls Tezni was placed 1st overall with Megan 2nd and Natasha 3rd while in the Senior girls Sarah was 1st overall and Stephanie was 5th. These fantastic results placed Brescia House School in top place overall - Champions of the Orienteering league for 2020! Well done on this superb achievement girls.
