Grade 12 Life Sciences Sickle Cell Anaemia

On 5th March 2021, Miss Nadia Borello, a Final Year MBBCh student at Wits who has specialized in BHSc (Biomedical Sciences) and BHSc Hons (Human Genetics) came to speak to the grade 12 Life Sciences pupils about sickle cell anemia. Sickle cell anemia is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder and is part of the genetic section that the pupils cover in their syllabus.

We were very privileged to have Miss Borello to give us such an informative and interesting talk on this genetic disorder. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed having her and she has added invaluable content to their grade 12 work.

We wish Miss Borello all the best for her final year of her studies and thank her for spending her precious time with us.
