CANSA Shavathon
Friday morning our Brescia House School community once again came together to show support for two very worthy organisations – CANSA and CHOC.
Staff and students alike showed their support through donations, purchasing ribbons, and the ultimate act of generosity – donating at least 25cm of their precious locks to make wigs for those who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy treatment. Head of French, Mr Martin Perold (a cancer survivor) shave off his hair in an act of solidarity. Staff members Mrs Meghan Daniel and Ms Amy Richardson, as well as pupils Claudia Chang, Georgia Moody, Ashley Botha, Thea Holdt and Kristen Cikes, followed suit by donating 25cm of their hair to make a difference in the lives of those in need. Sarah Handley and Devina Bhula also cut off their long hair in support of this event.
Those who weren’t able to donate their hair, were still able to show their support by donating funds, weaving ribbons through their hair for the day. The spirit of unity and support was evident throughout the day, as staff and students shared their personal stories and experiences with the school. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this initiative – your kindness and generosity will have a lasting impact on those who need it most. #insieme #StrengthInUnity
