Orienteering
The final for the schools orienteering league took place on Monday at Kloofendal. This year’s courses were tougher than previous years, both technically and physically, and our five selected athletes performed admirably. At the prize giving, Tezni Love was awarded the trophy for top position on the school log. On Monday our junior girls excelled, with Abigail Hughes winning the junior course and Arwen Terblanche finishing second, both of them walking away with medals. Abigail went into the final second on the schools log, but won the final by a large enough margin to earn her the overall league trophy for the junior girls!
On Sunday, 4 of our 5 finalists participated in the schools league relay at Heronbridge. We had one girls team (of 3) and our 4th girl joined Jeppe Boys in the mixed team category. All the girls thoroughly enjoyed the course, finding them much easier than Kloofendal. Our girls team fought hard and at the end finished second while our mixed team came fourth. Well done to all our girls.
